The process of space exploration has always been fraught with risks and dangers. One of the most hazardous aspects of spaceflight is the launch itself, as it involves immense amounts of energy and propellant. Even with the most advanced technology available, accidents and failures can still occur. One such incident that occurred in the recent past was the explosion of the SpaceX Starship during a test flight.

The SpaceX Starship is a spacecraft designed for interplanetary travel. On April 20, 2023, the STARSHIP was conducting a test flight in the skies above the company’s facility in Boca Chica, Texas. During the flight, something went wrong, and the spacecraft exploded in mid-air, raining debris over the surrounding area. The explosion was caught on video by several onlookers as well as the official stream, and the footage quickly spread across the internet.

Although out of 33 raptor engines which were supposed to ignite some did not even started and the others went off in midair. Now mind you, the Raptor engine is not your average engine. It is an advanced, full-flow staged combustion engine that uses a combination of liquid methane and liquid oxygen as its propellants. It is designed to be highly efficient, with a thrust-to-weight ratio of over 200, which makes it one of the most powerful engines ever built.
