Prior to its second launch attempt, SpaceX has expedited its operations at Starbase, Texas, in order to get ready for the upcoming round of Starship tests.

Last week saw the conclusion of the Orbital Launch Mount (OLM) repairs and improvements. Starship’s initial launch attempt in April (4/20) resulted in significant damage to the OLM.

The Super Heavy Booster 9 rocket was delivered to the launch pad by SpaceX on Thursday because the OLM has now been fully fixed. On Thursday night (20th July), Booster 9 was raised onto the OLM.

As the Booster 9 was being brought to the Starbase, Boca Chica, Texas orbital launch site, SpaceX posted some breathtaking pictures of the vehicle. Megastructures of engineering, very heavy rocket boosters are magnificent to view in drone aerial images.

In a statement on Twitter, SpaceX said that Starship Super Heavy Booster 9 has been moved to the Starbase orbital launch pad for testing prior to takeoff.

Since Starship’s integrated flight test on April 20, this will be the first time a rocket has been attached to the launch pad. During its testing campaign, it is unknown how long the booster will stay on the launch cradle. For the first time since being chosen for the upcoming test in May, both Booster 9 and Ship 25 are presently at the launch site together for testing.

To maintain the thrust and flames of the Starship engines during takeoff, SpaceX has updated the OLM water deluge system. SpaceX will shortly carry out the required testing on Booster 9 because the upgraded system is back in place. In order to prepare for the orbital flight, static fire tests are the most thrilling.

On Starship 25, SpaceX recently finished a 6-engine static fire test. Booster 9 will now take part in the required tests. The second orbital flight test will use Starship 25 (SN25) and Booster 9 (B9) that SpaceX has developed.

The Starship manufacturing facility, popularly known as the Starfactory by the space community, is being expanded by SpaceX. The enlarged Starfactory portion has been under development by SpaceX since last week. We can see that the steel framework has been elevated and that SpaceX is putting the roof structure of the Starship production facility in place in a video update from NASASpaceFlight.com.

SpaceX also worked on Starship prototypes, such as Starship 27 and 28. Ship 28 was put up in the High Bay while Ship 27 was chopped in half to start its scraping.

Ship 28 was hoisted in the High Bay and placed on the thrust simulator stand in preparation for a relocation to Masseys, according to NASASpaceFlight, who was on the ground at Starbase. “Ship 27 was cut in half as scrapping of it began, and Ship 28 was lifted in the High Bay,” the report said.

A deluge system test on the repaired OLM was also carried out by SpaceX. In order to lessen the effects of the integrated Starship launch, a new deluge system was created. The OLM concrete foundation and the deluge system sustained considerable damage during the first Starship orbital flight test.
