2024 will be remembered as the year when Boeing’s downfall as a company began. They’ve faced relentless negative headlines since the start of the year, from whistleblower scandals to plane crashes. These issues have kept them in the news for months. Boeing had a chance to shift this attention to success with the launch of the Starliner spacecraft, but they missed this opportunity too. In fact, the situation got much worse due to persistent issues with the Starliner.
Somehow, they managed to launch the spacecraft and dock it with the International Space Station, and many of us thought they had finally made it. But we were wrong. This was just the beginning of a much bigger issue. Boeing has constantly failed to return the astronauts safely, and recently, footage of the Starliner has been surfacing all over social media, making people worry even more about the lives of the astronauts.
Many prominent figures are blasting Boeing over this issue, and we are going to talk about it in this video. Before we delve any deeper, please make sure to subscribe to our channel for future updates about the Starliner and other important missions.
As we all know, Boeing is under constant fire for failing to return the astronauts from the International Space Station. Adding fuel to the fire, an old footage is resurfacing all over social media, making everyone worry even more about the astronauts.
The footage shows Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft being rolled out to the launchpad for its second attempt to dock with the International Space Station. In the video, captured by a news videographer, a piece of the capsule’s window appears to pop off and fall to the asphalt during transport. This incident shows the procession stopping briefly to check for damage before resuming its journey to Space Launch Complex 41 in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The window issue raises questions about how the Starliner can withstand the extreme conditions of space travel, especially during reentry. Reentry is one of the most difficult phases of spaceflight, where the spacecraft must survive temperatures exceeding 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit as it passes through the Earth’s atmosphere. The intense heat and aerodynamic forces could easily compromise the structural integrity of the spacecraft if any component, especially something as crucial as a window, is not securely attached.
The spacecraft must also endure immense pressure changes. As it reenters the Earth’s atmosphere, it moves from the vacuum of space to atmospheric pressure, requiring robust engineering to ensure all parts of the spacecraft remain intact and functional. Any failure in the capsule’s structural integrity could be catastrophic, leading to a loss of cabin pressure and potentially endangering the lives of the astronauts onboard.
Boeing’s track record with their airplanes hasn’t helped either, as they have faced issues with windows blowing out mid-air, sometimes even losing doors.
