No One Care! SpaceX just FAILED After 7 years. Elon Explained…
After more than 7 years, for the first time, Falcon 9 encountered a problem. But Elon Musk has proven that this is not too big an issue for SpaceX.
So, what basis does Musk have to assert this claim? Who is really worried when the Falcon 9 is grounded?
Let’s find out on today’s episode of Alpha Tech:
Whenever a groundbreaking technological feat happens so often that it becomes familiar, what once seemed remarkable becomes ordinary. Something astonishing just a few years ago—such as landing a rocket vertically on a barge—is now met with a collective yawn. Widespread interest is only sparked when something terrible happens. This pattern has repeated itself in the Apollo moon landings, Space Shuttle flights, and the feats of Mars rovers. SpaceX’s Falcon 9 is no exception.

As we know, the shocking news for space enthusiasts last week was the incident with SpaceX’s workhorse rocket, the Falcon 9. However, this isn’t really a shock in the literal sense when considering the entire industry because, in reality, the challenges faced in space are always surprises we cannot foresee.
Therefore, SpaceX is handling the Falcon 9 issue very calmly. After identifying the cause of the mission failure as a liquid oxygen leak, SpaceX quickly requested the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on July 15 to continue Falcon 9 flights during the mandatory investigation, because usually, companies have to stop launches during such investigations.
SpaceX wants the FAA to decide if it’s safe to keep launching. If the FAA finds that the problem didn’t affect important safety systems or put the public at risk, SpaceX might be allowed to continue launches.
The FAA said they’re looking at SpaceX’s request carefully “The FAA is reviewing the request [by SpaceX] and will be guided by data and safety at every step of the process.”

“The FAA is responsible for and committed to protecting the public during commercial space transportation launch and reentry operations,” the FAA wrote in the e-mailed statement.
Next, in its July 16 statement, the FAA said the public safety determination request would be evaluated on matters including “safety-critical systems, the nature and consequences of the anomaly, the adequacy of existing flight safety analysis, safety organization performance, and environmental factors.”
“If the FAA agrees no public safety issues were involved,” the statement added, “the operator may return to flight while the investigation remains open, provided all other license requirements are met.”
