The Boring Company is ready to start digging the Music City Loop as crews await five more permits, including the most critical permit from the Tennessee Department of Transportation according to a recent blog post.
The Boring Company says it needs 37 total permits to start tunneling, and 45 permits overall to operate.
The Music City Loop was announced in the Summer of 2025 as a tunnel for staffed Tesla drivers from the airport to Downtown Nashville under state roads to avoid Metro leadership pushback.
There’s another proposed tunnel from the West End potentially over to Nissan Stadium, which FOX 17 News first reported.
