Just over a month ago, SpaceX wowed the world when lifting its gargantuan Super Heavy rocket booster, the world’s most powerful rocket, onto the launch pad using its colossal “chopsticks”-wielding launch tower. It was a truly impressive feat of engineering!
So recently, when the Super Heavy Booster 7 rolled back to the launch pad, we all couldn’t help but wait to see that scene play out again.
But disappointedly, for this time, the SpaceX team used the LR11000 crane to lift Booster 7 onto the launch mount.
Because it turns out, the legendary Chopsticks are in trouble!
So, what exactly happened to it?
How did Elon Musk react to this?
Will this incident affect the future operation of SpaceX’s Starship?
Let’s find out in today’s episode of SpaceX Fans:

SpaceX is gearing up to conduct a bunch of tests on Booster 7.
Super Heavy is responsible for lifting the rocket from the Earth’s surface and to orbit. It is powered by 33 Raptor 2 engines, and these engines are the reason it took SpaceX roughly three weeks to transport it back and to the launch pad after the July accident.

Since then, footage from diligent journalists providing coverage round the clock from Boca Chica has suggested that SpaceX removed the booster’s engines and then installed them after inspection. However, it is unclear how many, or if any, engines were damaged due to the fireball that generated shockwaves and whether the company has installed new engines on the rocket instead.

Gladly, SpaceX’s chief Mr. Elon Musk has finally confirmed via Twitter that his company has finished inspecting the booster and has shipped it back to the launch site. Musk provided live updates as his company rolled the rocket out from its testing and assembly facilities to the launch site, with the process taking roughly five hours.

When Booster 7 was rolling, the Chopsticks have raised and rotated.
However, after moving Booster 7 and prepping for another lift onto the orbital launch mount the chopsticks appeared to blow a hydraulic line bathing the launch tower and Booster 7 in hydraulic fluid. The smell of the fluid filled the air into the early morning hours as SpaceX assessed the damage.
