As always, Elon Musk is at the forefront of innovation and he’s just announced a new development inside the SpaceX factory. Apparently, they’ve been working on a new type of rocket engine that uses liquid oxygen and methane, and it’s just been completed. This is a big deal because it could potentially make space travel much more efficient and environmentally friendly.
The Federal Aviation Administration has granted environmental certification for orbital launches from the company’s location in South Texas, allowing SpaceX to overcome another obstacle on its path to launching the Starship, the most powerful rocket in the world.
After months of deliberation and delay, a decision was made on June 13 that calls for a number of initiatives to lessen the effect on the public beaches and wildlife near SpaceX’s private spaceport at Boca Chica Beach, located 20 miles east of Brownsville, Texas.
Elon Musk’s space firm still benefits from the decision, as it may have been obliged to finish a far longer and more in-depth Environmental Impact Statement before any orbital missions.
