Finally, Elon Musk has explained why he decided to fire up to 90% of his employees. There would be no smoke if there was no fire. Employees at Tesla have been sharing or, more accurately, leaking sensitive corporate information.
What happened to loyalty? It was thrown out the window. We’ll spill all the juicy details we have because there’s more to this than meets the eye. In this video, we’ll take a look at why Elon Musk just fired 90% of Tesla employees and further updates you need to know!
Elon Musk has asked employees to return to the office or “pretend to work somewhere else,” according to a memo sent to employees. According to Nick Bloom, a Stanford economics professor and co-founder of the Working from Home Research Project, approximately 30% of US office workers still work from home.
Many businesses are shifting to a hybrid work model in which employees come in two or three days per week. However, the world’s richest man appears to be opposed to his executives working from home.
In a memo headlined “Remote work is no longer acceptable”, Musk wrote that “anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is less than what we expect of factory workers.”
Neither Musk nor Tesla have confirmed that the memo was sent, but in response to a Twitter follower who asked for “additional comment to people who think coming to work is an antiquated concept,” Musk wrote: “They should pretend to work somewhere else.”
