A case in point is SpaceX, which was founded by Elon in 2002 with the simple goal of reducing transportation costs to enable the colonization of Mars. Fast forward to today, and the company has manufactured several reusable heavy-duty rockets, some of which are the Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and Starship launch vehicles. Similarly, Tesla was founded with humble beginnings in 2004, but the company started soaring to new heights after Musk’s mammoth investment of $6.5 million in 2004 and his leadership takeover in 2008.
