Blue Origin suddenly Made New progress to Shock SpaceX & Elon Musk…
2024 can be considered a booming year for the space industry.
This is not an exaggeration because even Blue Origin, one of the biggest disappointments, is also taking extremely ambitious steps. Its orbital rocket, New Glenn, has made significant progress over the past months. Most recently, Jeff’s company took a major step with this rocket that shocked the entire aerospace industry!
So, what exactly did Blue Origin accomplish? Is it enough to beat SpaceX?
Let’s delve into these questions on today’s episode of Great SpaceX.
Blue Origin suddenly Made New progress to Shock SpaceX & Elon Musk…
Since its inception, Blue Origin has always considered itself a formidable opponent of SpaceX. However, due to their inability to reach orbit, they were even laughed at by many smaller competitors.
Determined to change this, they have focused on developing their first orbital rocket, New Glenn. According to the plan, this rocket will enter the race around September this year, with a mission to launch a Mars spacecraft for NASA.
With that day approaching, Blue Origin needs to prepare extensively. Recently, they showcased a new development step that, in my opinion, is extremely impressive. They tested the landing legs system of New Glenn’s first stage.

Specifically, on X, the company announced: “We recently completed New Glenn’s first stage test of its six landing legs—a key area for reusability, which lowers the cost of access to space.”
The test video provided by Blue Origin reveals a lot about the new structure. As described by Blue Origin: “The landing gear stows inside the rocket during flight, deploying as the booster gently touches down on our landing vessel at sea.”
