Elon Musk: “I Am Afraid to Tell You This.. I Lied”
In this full length interview from December, 2022 Elon Musk reveals strange details about Tesla that concerns everyone.
What would you say, like when you first joined Tesla, like everyone thinks that you weren’t the founder of, everyone tries to correct you on that. He didn’t found it. What did it actually consist of? Because I think a lot of people just think that someone else started it, you joined later and whatever, but obviously that’s not true.
So that is not true. And the reason people think that is because Everhart has engaged in a nonstop campaign to try to effectively gain sole. For a Tesla for himself. And he is the worst person I have ever worked with. And that is saying something. Okay. I’ve worked with some real assholes,
Okay. So for somebody to be the worst person I have ever worked with, by far Yeah, that’s not easy, is what I’m saying. The actual origin of Tesla goes to 2000 2003 when I had lunch with jv in El Segun. And we got to talking about electric cars and JB said hey, have you tried the AC propulsion T zero?
I said, no. But we talked about battery technology and how the lithium ion would enable a long, finally enable a long range car I never heard of Eberhart at this point. Never heard of him. So then I got a test drive from AC Propulsion T zero . I was like, wow, okay.
This is pretty cool. So at first I was like can you guys just make me a T zero? I’ll buy one from you. And they didn’t wanna make another one. So I was like, okay. And I said, you guys should really commercialize the T zero, cuz the T zero had all the properties that we later had in the road.
Two 50 mile range. Zero to 60 under four seconds or roughly four seconds. and it was a two door didn’t have doors, admittedly, the T zero. . But it looks, you can see a resemblance between the T zero and the Roadster. It’s a small, basically a small electric sports car.
And so I was trying to convince the guys there. To com to, to commercialize the teaser. It’s hey, the world needs to see that, that it’s possible to have a viable electric car. And at the time I was obviously very much working crazy hours at SpaceX trying to get a rocket to orbit and we’d not yet reached orbit.
So we’d not reached orbit for until 2008 for space. . So anyway, so then I kept hounding AC propulsion to commercialize the T zero . And then weirdly they wanted to not do the T zero, but how do an electric Toyota SC. like truth is strangers in fiction. So I’m like guys with hamsters dancing too.
The thing is like the the batteries in powertrain at low volume are gonna be very expensive. Yeah. And the, and so like no matter what you’d have like maybe a seven or $80,000 electric scion, or you could have, for argument’s sake, a hundred thousand dollars electric sports.
and people are willing to pay a hundred thousand dollars for an electric sports car, but they’re not willing to pay, let’s say, 80 ou, like you’d only save a small amount. . , because the battery pack and electric powertrain are overwhelmingly what is expensive. . But I even said, let’s listen, if you guys actually want to do an electric scion, I will fund 10% of it.
Cause you have to find other people who will find the fund. The other 90%. And the only people who are willing to do 10% were me and Sge. Bri and . So they, so then that project sold. So then I sent I was talk Tom Gay Gage at an email saying listen if you guys assure that you don’t want to commercialize the T zero, how about if you let me,
So I was like, I want to, I let me, I’m gonna start a company to commercialize the T zero. Then Dan said if you’re interested in commercializing T zero, he knows two other groups that are also interested in doing it. And would you like what? I like to meet them. I never met the second group but the first group I met was Everhard.
