After teasing the world with a series of outlandish ideas, Elon Musk has finally announced his next venture. Unsurprisingly, it’s even more out there than the last one. The billionaire has revealed plans to build a network of underground tunnels to help tackle traffic congestion in cities.
The Boring Company is Musk’s new venture that will focus on digging these tunnels and developing solutions to reduce congestion above ground as well.
The Boring Company, directed by Elon Musk, has submitted paperwork to build a tunnel under the Tesla Gigafactory Texas in Austin; however, it is not apparent what the company hopes to achieve with this tunnel.
According to the website for automotive technology Electrek, since migrating to Texas, The Boring Company has been in discussions with the state’s and local governments on a wide variety of projects. But, to the best of our knowledge, none of these ideas have moved forward until now.
