Elon Musk Just Announced This INSANE Plan That Will SHOCK NASA!
The first module of the International Space Station was launched in 1998, and it has been circling the planet for 24 years. Since then, the station has undergone numerous modernizations, module additions, and repairs. Over 400 million dollars have already been invested by NASA in the construction of the new ISS 2.0 project. However, if we wish to explore space beyond Earth’s orbit. The most cutting-edge station may not be what we need; perhaps what we need is a whole tiny planet with a research complex that can be located anyplace in the solar system. Why is it necessary to build a Death Star-like megastructure? How much does the biggest asteroid cost, and is it possible to build a complete artificial planet? And the tech billionaire Elon Musk has found the solution for this. Let’s find out!

Why do we want a complete miniature planet when we can simply construct a modern equivalent of the International Space Station (ISS), which is what SpaceX and NASA are attempting to do? Private Sky Lab will be put into orbit by 2027, and in addition to being a research facility, it will also serve as a center for space tourism. A dwelling module with an internal volume of 340 cubic meters, which is three times less than the internal volume of the ISS, will be included in Sky Lab in addition to the laboratory facility and technical compartments.
Even though it is small, Sky Lab can help the International Space Station with a number of issues. The Sky Lab habitat module is inflatable, but it is constructed of layers of patented material that will guard the station against harm from cosmic radiation and air leakage. In addition, Sky Lab is a privately funded endeavor rather than a government one, which is a major positive. The ISS is currently in danger not just because it is out of date, but also because multiple nations, including the USA, Japan, European nations, Canada, and Russia, are participating in providing technical assistance for it.
And this condition will change if until 2023 the states were able to come to an agreement following the war President Vladimir Putin sparked in the Ukraine. The problem is that each space agency is in charge of ensuring the viability of its own module. To increase the service life of its module, each of them performs routine inspections and maintenance. The Roscosmos module, which keeps the ISS in orbit and figuratively prevents it from falling to Earth, will only be able to continue operating until 2024. NASA, JAXA, and CSA have extended the operational life of their modules until 2028. As a result, it will probably be necessary to deorbit the ISS earlier than expected.
The primary issue with the International Space Station, though, won’t be resolved by Sky Lab. A prolonged period of weightlessness is not only uncomfortable, but also dangerous because humans are accustomed to gravity on Earth. The rapid loss of calcium experienced by astronauts leads to a decrease in bone density and an elevated risk of fractures. Investigations into the immediate and long-term impacts of zero gravity are being conducted by space agencies around the world, but the findings thus far have been unsatisfactory.
