Elon Musk JUST REVEALED Tesla’S New DOJO Supercomputer 2024!
Elon Musk has unveiled Tesla’s latest marvel: the DOJO Supercomputer. Set to revolutionize the world of autonomous driving and artificial intelligence, this cutting-edge technology promises to accelerate Tesla’s capabilities in developing self-driving cars and pushing the boundaries of AI research. The unveiling shook the market, nudging Tesla’s stock down by 4% in after-hours trading. Stay tuned as the automotive AI race just hit warp speed.
What is DOJO capable of? Should we be worried? Join us as we reveal everything about Tesla’s supercomputer: DOJO.
The tech genius, Elon Musk has shocked the world by yet another announcement. Tesla is gearing up to pour a staggering $1 billion into Project Dojo, a mind-bending supercomputer designed to crunch colossal data volumes for its self-driving car software.
When you’re behind the wheel of a Tesla, a discreet process unfolds in the background—it’s quietly amassing data. The world of autonomous vehicles has unlocked the potential for these machines to accumulate up to a staggering 19 terabytes of data daily, sourced from an intricate network of sensors and cameras. The surge in demand for Teslas and other self-driving electric vehicles (EVs) underscores the need for robust, cutting-edge computing systems to grapple with the data deluge.
This torrent of data encompasses inputs from the car’s ensemble of 12 sensors and eight external cameras, strategically positioned to provide a panoramic, 360-degree field of view, extending up to a range of 250 meters. The overarching aim? To heighten safety and comfort for every occupant on board.
However, the volume of data can be astonishing. Tesla’s Autopilot, for instance, hinges on camera-based driver assistance software. Debuting in 2017, Autopilot diligently amasses data from its willing cohort of driver-users, leveraging this information to nourish neural networks and propel the prowess of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature. The FSD, presently in its beta phase, has already assimilated data spanning an impressive 300 million miles of driving. An intriguing insight: more than half of this data has been gathered in the last quarter, as disclosed in Tesla’s latest earnings presentation.
As the curtains fall on 2024, the Dojo supercomputer, currently under construction, will come to fruition. Its purpose? To harness the monumental streams of video and sensor data catalyzed by Tesla’s Autopilot and FSD features. Much akin to Tesla’s in-house development of vehicle hardware and software, the company intends to leverage its substantial real-world dataset to internally train Dojo’s neural networks. In this pursuit, Tesla seeks to fortify its technological prowess and maintain a firm grip on the cutting edge of autonomous driving innovation.
