The highly anticipated “$25,000 Tesla model” and a new “dedicated robotaxi,” a vehicle created from the ground up for autonomous driving without any pedals or steering wheel, are expected to be released by Tesla after the Cybertruck, which is scheduled to arrive any day now.
The former was initially mentioned during Tesla’s Battery Day in 2020, when CEO Elon Musk stated that the new 4680 battery will enable the manufacturer to create such a vehicle.
Likewise it has been connected to a brand-new electric hatchback that Tesla has been preparing to manufacture at the Gigafactory Shanghai in China and ship all over the world.
It was once scheduled for 2023 but was postponed as Tesla concentrated on increasing Model Y production and developing autonomous driving technology.

The new 4680 batteries were created by Tesla and are named for their 46 by 80 millimetre dimensions. Tesla has streamlined its battery manufacturing process. According to MarketWatch, the new batteries enable Tesla to manufacture and sell a car for $25,000 while also giving the vehicle a range of 250–300 miles on a single charge. This is greater than the majority of EVs with comparable pricing.
A list of the top 10 least expensive electric vehicles, with prices ranging from $27,495 to $42,715, was published by Car and Driver in March. For the listed vehicles, a single charge may get them between 100 and 270 miles of driving distance. Only one car on the list’s three sub-$30,000 models had a range of more than 250 miles, and not by much.
According to CNBC, certain automakers, like Ford and Hyundai, have decided not to focus on smaller, more affordable EVs at this time and instead plan to make larger vehicles with higher profit margins. However, MarketWatch reports that Tesla wants to produce four million of its $25,000 vehicles.
Comparatively to current Tesla models, which range from about $40,000 to $120,000 before discounts, the new model will be accessible to a larger consumer base that may have previously wanted an EV but found them to be prohibitively expensive. The new car is anticipated to be a compact hatchback looking like a smaller version of the Tesla Model Y.
