Our energy issues can be solved relatively easily, according to Elon Musk. construct more nuclear power reactors. not simply build more nuclear power facilities, and also reopen those that were shut down for political reasons.
Elon Musk and other business titans support the scientific agreement that nuclear energy will be essential to addressing our energy needs in a way that is environmentally friendly and carbon neutral. But, there’s more, he just leaked a better solution. Will the tech billionaire say goodbye to solar energy or simply solar panels?

Musk is “pro nuclear.”
When discussing how to make bitcoin mining viable at the B-Word conference organized by the Crypto Council for Innovation two years ago, Musk made the aforementioned statement.
Because nuclear energy is produced without the release of greenhouse gases, it is regarded as “clean energy”. However, legacy nuclear power facilities can have a negative reputation as a result of some high-profile mishaps.
Contrary to popular belief, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO believes that current nuclear power facilities are safe.
“I genuinely believe that nuclear energy can be made to be very, very safe.”
And I’m talking about fission. You don’t require fusion, claimed Musk.
In conventional nuclear reactors, nuclear fission is the method in use. A neutron smashes into a larger atom in a fission reaction, dividing it into two smaller atoms and releasing energy in the process.
The opposite of fission is fusion. With fusion, lighter atoms unite with smaller ones to form a heavier atom, releasing energy in the process. The sun produces energy through fusion.
“You’ve got the sun, which is a big fusion reactor in the sky. Every day, it comes up,” stated Musk.
Some promote fusion as a more secure method of producing nuclear energy because, among other things, fusion does not produce long-lived radioactive waste, in contrast to fission, which can produce radioactive waste that can remain dangerous for a very long period.
With current technology, fusion is challenging since it consumes all the energy it generates to maintain its reaction, leaving no “net energy” to power other things. Many businesses are attempting to make fusion energy commercially viable, but thus far they have not been successful.
Musk has long been a vocal supporter of nuclear energy, however he did not go into detail on how nuclear power plants could be made “extremely safe.”
In a 2007 PBS interview, Musk stated that “We should build more nuclear power plants.” “I believe that is a better way to produce energy than a coal power plant or a natural gas power plant, without a doubt.”
According to the US Energy Information Administration, nuclear energy currently accounts for 20% of all energy produced in the US.
The use of fission in conventional nuclear energy has changed and advanced over time. For instance, Bill Gates launched TerraPower, a business that innovates on traditional power plant technology and is engaged in advanced nuclear.
The usage of nuclear energy is still fiercely opposed.
