Elon Musk’s SpaceX Dragon Just Made This That SHOCKS NASA!

The Dragon spacecraft from SpaceX is now traveling in extremely rarefied air. During its most recent mission, a robotic resupply run to the International Space Station (ISS) for NASA that launched on Monday (June 5) and arrived at the orbiting lab Tuesday morning (June 6), Dragon broke several American spaceflight records that really shocked NASA! And so, in today’s episode, let’s check how incredible SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft really is!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Elon Musk Evolution, where we bring you the most recent news about Elon Musk and his multi billion-dollar companies, space news and the latest science and technology.

Dragon spacecraft have now visited the orbiting outpost 38 times, breaking the previous record of the Space Shuttle. This visit was CRS-28. With crewed missions for NASA and resupply missions, SpaceX is now the only American business making frequent trips to the ISS. They will also launch three Cygnus resupply craft later this year, which are owned by Northrup Grumman, whose Antares 230+ rocket is being retired.

According to a further tweet from SpaceX on Wednesday, the Dragon 2 fleet’s total time in orbit as of Tuesday had eclipsed that of the space shuttle fleet by 1,324 days.

The reusable capsule’s most recent model, the Dragon 2, was launched by SpaceX in 2020. The Dragon 2 comes in crewed and uncrewed versions. The majority of the ten astronaut flights that Crew Dragon has flown for NASA have been six-month stays at the ISS.

The current resupply mission for Dragon 2’s cargo variant is the eighth. These autonomous cargo voyages typically last three to four weeks each.

Likewise the previous Dragon 1 supply ship launched 22 times between December 2010 and March 2020, arriving to the International Space Station 20 times. The first flight took place in December 2010 and was a test to Earth orbit without a rendezvous attempt with the orbiting lab. During a robotic ISS resupply mission in June 2015, SpaceX also experienced a launch failure.

Over the course of 135 missions from 1981 until the conclusion of the program in 2011, NASA used five different space shuttle orbiters. In devastating catastrophes, the Challenger in January 1986 and the Columbia in February 2003, two of those vehicles and their seven-astronaut crews perished.

The ISS, which didn’t have its first humans aboard until November 2000, was constructed with assistance from the space shuttles. Since then, revolving crews have been living in the orbital lab continually.

The space shuttle, in contrast to Dragon, wasn’t made to be piloted by humans; it was always equipped with wings.
Two crucial pieces of technology will determine whether SpaceX’s aspirations for human space exploration succeed or fail, and the company’s voyage to the moon will serve as a significant test platform for both. The Falcon Heavy rocket, which will be the most powerful rocket in the world when it is finished, is the first one and is hotter and literally more explosive. The second component, the Dragon 2 crew capsule, which will be able to transport people to and from space, is less of a spectacle to behold but is nonetheless equally significant.

Up to seven people can travel onboard Dragon 2, a completely autonomous spaceship that is intended to journey to Mars (in a future Red Dragon version) as well as the moon and the International Space Station. The majority of the funds used to develop the Dragon 2 came from NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.
