Elon Musk’s Starship SUCCEFULLY PERFORMED Cryo Test!

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has made a big advancement by finishing the first-ever full flight-like dress rehearsal for its deep space rocket Starship, which is probably capable of carrying astronauts to Mars, the company stated on Tuesday. And so, what are the next steps before the first orbital launch? Let’s find out!

Today at Starbase, Starship finished its first full wet dress rehearsal that replicated a flight. The combined Ship and Booster was completely loaded with more than 10 million pounds of propellant for the first time in this operation.

The SpaceX rocket of the future has advanced significantly toward its initial attempt at an orbital launch with the conclusion of that test. The largest rocket ever built is called Starship, and it is around 120 meters (394 feet) tall and 9 meters (about 30 feet) broad. It is intended to launch more than 220,000 lb (about 100 metric tons) to low Earth orbit (LEO) in a fully reusable form. Starship will be significantly more powerful than any rocket in history when it lifts off, with its 33 Raptor engines capable of producing up to 7590 tons (16.7M lbf) of thrust.

And after SpaceX fully loaded Starship with propellant on Monday, January 23, it probably became the heaviest rocket ever. To the surprise of most spectators, SpaceX successfully pass the challenging test necessary for that achievement.

It just hasn’t been SpaceX’s preferred strategy while constructing Starship, so the apparent success is unexpected. The Starship program has been handled primarily to prioritize speed and prepare for disasters since SpaceX started building Starhopper in an empty Texas field in 2018. In spite of the fact that failures were a given, the corporation nearly always opted to create, test, and learn from minimum-viable product prototypes as soon as possible.

SpaceX always had a backup prototype ready to continue the work because it anticipated failures, learnt from them, and prepared for them. Starship prototypes rarely succeeded in ground or flight tests on the first attempt since SpaceX was also learning how to test and operate those vehicles, frequently in a devastating manner. The result of the failure-as-an-option strategy was a series of seven suborbital Starship tests, which took place between August 2020 and May 2021 and included two brief hops of identical prototypes as well as five attempts to launch and land five more advanced prototypes. After four failed attempts, a full-scale Starship finally launched to a height of 12.5 kilometers (41,000 feet) on its fifth attempt, shut off its engines, descended to Earth, re-ignited them, flipped about, and landed safely.

It appears that the campaign served as the ultimate validation of SpaceX’s development approach. However, SpaceX made the decision to fundamentally alter the risk management and systems engineering strategies for the Starship program in the second half of 2022. As a result, over the past few months, testing of starships has grown extremely cautious.

There is a slight possibility that SpaceX just happened to get lucky, but Starship’s first completely built wet dress rehearsal test seems to show that being cautious has paid off. Since mid-2022, the rocket’s two stages, Ship 24 and Booster 7, have performed dozens of independent verification tests and static fires.
