Tesla’s Investor Day event brought along quite a few important announcements. While Elon Musk’s vision of a fossil fuel-free world may seem ambitious, it’s not that far from reality, touts the Texas-based EV maker.
The event is no doubt a glimpse into Tesla’s future plans. The next few years will prove exciting for the electric car giant. We could see the Cybertruck and possibly the Roadster finally entering production. There are also reports suggesting the Model 3 getting an update, along with the Model Y.
Sources close to the matter are confident in both models getting a dramatic revamp. While our focus is on the upcoming 2024 Tesla Model Y, expect similar changes to the new 2024 Tesla Model 3 as well.

In a report, “Tesla is readying a production revamp of its top-selling Model Y, according to three people with knowledge of the plan.” Reportedly, Project Juniper and Project Highland are the respective codenames for Model Y and Model 3 facelifts. However, when asked about these at Tesla’s investor Day event, CEO Elon Musk, and other executives declined to comment.
But that doesn’t mean nothing is happening in the background. The news agency says, “changes to the Model Y—codenamed Project Juniper at Tesla—involve the exterior and interior of the crossover electric vehicle with a target of starting production in 2024, according to two people, who asked not to be identified because the planning remains private.”
It makes perfect sense why Tesla would want to bring a Model Y facelift. Competition from legacy automakers is quite strong. You have several promising offerings, from the Kia EV6 and Mustang Mach-E to the Volkswagen ID.4 and the Mercedes EQ lineup.
