NASA and SpaceX are scheduled to launch the Crew-6 mission to the International Space Station with a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The launch is set to take place at 1:45 a.m. EST (0645 UTC).
The Dragon Endeavour spacecraft, carrying NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Warren “Woody” Hoburg, UAE astronaut Sultan Alneyadi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, will be propelled into space by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Bowen, the Crew-6 mission commander, has been to space three times before, while the rest of the crew will be embarking on their maiden space voyage. They are expected to spend six months on the space station, conducting research that will help us better understand how to live and work in space.
During the launch and ascent, NASA’s coverage of the Crew-6 flight will switch to an audio-only stream on YouTube, providing real-time audio between the crew and flight controllers at NASA’s Mission Audio stream. This will include conversations with astronauts aboard the space station and live video footage from the laboratory. Full coverage on NASA TV will resume at 12:45 p.m. EST (1745 UTC) on February 27th.
