SpaceX huge upgrades on water deluge system
“How are you doing uh pretty good?
I mean it’s got a lot going on obviously um so I I just actually just got in from
uh starbase Texas and we’re building the Starship rocket, so getting ready for
another launch uh hopefully get to orbit this time uh oh wait you’re ready in about so six to eight weeks.
That’s awesome, that’s awesome!”
Well, well, Elon Musk just reaffirmed his claim, once again proving that SpaceX is dead serious about this goal. However, The biggest bottleneck for that milestone will still be the launch pad.
Fortunately for SpaceX, they’ve experienced huge upgrades on the water deluge system over the past week.
Let’s take a look at what’s in store for the second orbital test flight at Starbase Texas in today’s episode of Great SpaceX
The first Starship rocket with a complete design was tested by SpaceX in April. The rocket had a brief flight before it ran out of thrust and was purposefully destroyed.
The cause of the failure is still under investigation, but it seems that Starship had some trouble unscrewing itself from the Super Heavy booster. The result was a spectacular fireworks show over the Gulf of Mexico, courtesy of SpaceX.
The company is not too worried, though. They are already working on the next Starship, which they hope will fly better and separate smoother.
Meanwhile, they are also busy repairing the launch site, which took quite a beating from the explosion. The huge crater under the launch mount has actually been useful for digging and installing new equipment. Maybe they should make more craters in the future.
