SpaceX just revealed HUGE UPDATE on Starship flight 3 “hardware, launch date, fuel transfer…”
As we step into the new year, 2024 emerges as a pivotal chapter in SpaceX’s journey, marked by ambitious goals and crucial milestones. With Elon Musk and his team poised for the upcoming Artemis 3 mission, slated for September 2026 according to the latest updates, the pressure intensifies on the leading aerospace conglomerate to escalate launch activities. This intermediate period demands a focused push in launch endeavors to propel Starship into orbit and cement its operational stability.
The initial two integrated flights in 2023, despite not achieving full success, marked significant strides for Musk’s private Mars-bound venture. These endeavors, particularly the second mission, showcased substantial progress, setting an encouraging tone for the imminent third.
Shortly after IFT-2, Elon Musk wasted no time, stating that the hardware for ‘Starship Flight 3’ should be prepared within the next 3 to 4 weeks. The designated prototypes for IFT-3 are S28 and B10.
However, these early revelations are likely to spark anticipation within the aerospace community, particularly among SpaceX enthusiasts, for more comprehensive insights from the space technology innovator’s leadership. This eagerness heightened following the successful launch of ULA’s new rocket, Vulcan Centaur, intensifying the competitive landscape.
Without further delay, on January 9th, during a NASA discussion, SpaceX’s Vice President of Customer Operations and Integration, Jessica Jensen, unveiled a significant revelation: From a hardware readiness perspective, we are targeting to be ready in January, and then from an FAA licensing perspective for getting a license for Flight 3 part of that is closing out the corrective actions from Flight 2. We’re on track for that – we’re working closely, so we’re expecting that license to come in February. So it is looking like Flight 3 will occur in February of this year.”
